papermaking process requires the use of large quantities of water, since the <strong>paper pulp<\/strong> is made up of <strong>99% water and 1% fibres.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                <div class=\"col-md-6 p-0 d-flex\">\n                    <div class=\"wrapper d-flex flex-column\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                            <div class=\"text\" data-aos=\"fade-up\" data-aos-offset=\"-200\"><p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Since our second paper machine was commissioned in 1999, we have reduced our water consumption per tonne of paper by optimising our manufacturing processes. <strong>We are one of the best-performing paper mills in this area.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<div <strong>recycles the water it uses<\/strong> to feed it back into its process. Around 23% of the output from the wastewater treatment plant is <strong>reinjected into the mill\u2019s water circuit.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>After a final treatment in our wastewater plant, 81% of our water withdrawals are <strong>returned to the river. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n class=\"col-10\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Raw water is pumped from a gravel pit less than 1 km from our site. This gravel pit is mainly fed by the river table that flows through it and by the local river (Moselle). This investment increases the internal water recycling capacity from 4,500 to 11,200 m<sup>3<\/sup>\/day.<\/p>\n<p>To take into account the impact of climate change on the availability of surface water, especially in a context of increasing drought alerts, we have set up an action plan to <strong>reduce our water consumption throughout our process.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"nsg-block nsg-text-banner
