A sustainable, long-term supplier

Norske Skog has made its commitment to graphic paper part of its strategy. Its ambition is to remain a leader in the production of publication paper for magazines and newspapers.

As a member of the Norske Skog group, Norske Skog Golbey shares this ambition. We are the only newsprint producer in France. We produce 100% recycled-fibre paper. CSR is at the heart of our DNA and we are proud to contribute to the responsible strategies of our European customers.

Commercial and technical proximity to our customers

Norske Skog Golbey is located in the Vosges, region of eastern France, close to its main markets. We are close to some of the most prestigious printers in Europe. Our sales network covers all the European countries.

Norske Skog has developed its own sales network in its main markets. For markets that are geographically or culturally more distant, we work with agents recognised for their professionalism.

Our quality technicians are also available to help our customers. They are the link between the printing sites and our production teams. They act as advisors to the printers and users of our papers. They help them to optimise their printed products, whatever the printing technique.

Finally, we offer our European customers the option of connecting to the PapiNet® computer network to facilitate the administrative management of orders.

Traceability of our paper is guaranteed

The quality of our newsprint is another of our priorities. Quality controls are carried out continuously throughout the manufacturing process using sensors. Analyses and samples are taken by our in-house laboratory to validate the technical characteristics of the pulp and the papers. Internal quality audits are also carried out regularly to guarantee the reliability of our paper quality.

Finished products are labelled to ensure traceability. The labels identify our reels and their characteristics: weight, grammage, width, etc. In the event of a claim, labelling helps us to identify the circumstances surrounding the production of the reel and find out what went wrong. The barcode printed on the labels can also help our customers manage their stocks.

Reliable, environmentally friendly logistics solutions

Quality of service is paramount for our customers. To ensure on-time delivery, our logistics team looks for the best solutions to meet the customers’ deadlines. We can deliver to our customers by road and/or rail.

To guarantee our road transport despite the pressure in the European market, we have developed a partnership with Norfibre Logistics. This enables us to work with two local hauliers, Coquelle and Mauffrey, and gives us easy access to the lorries we need. It also means we can work on developing innovative logistics solutions that are more respectful of the environment.

Finally, to optimise flows and ensure the safety of our employees, the handling of newsprint reels in our warehouse is automated.

High-quality certified paper

Resource management is one of our top priorities. That’s why we chose to have our newsprint and our production process certified. Our newsprint is certified to guarantee the origin of the fibres and its environmental performance. Our paper mill has ISO 50001 (energy management), ISO 14001 (environmental management) and ISO 9001 (quality management) certifications.
