Our priority Sustainable Development Goals
All the Sustainable Development Goals are important, and we are taking action, directly or indirectly, to respect and achieve each one of them.
Since our mill was built in the 1990s, we have fully lived up to our responsibilities in terms of sourcing and production (particularly its impact on the environment), and towards our employees and the local community.
We communicate around our environmental results every year and we have been publishing a CSR report every four years since 2012, detailing our actions in terms of sustainable development, our goals and how we achieve them.

In 2020, Norske Skog signed the Global Compact. At the same time, it also consulted all its Business Units to define its priority Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Here in Golbey, we have identified the goals on which we have the greatest impact and how we can contribute to achieving them. In line with the Group’s strategy and sustainable development policy, we have made the following commitments:
Preserve direct and indirect jobs and create new ones
Reduce our energy consumption by 30% (by 2025)
Reduce our carbon footprint by 55% (scopes 1 and 2 between 2015 and 2030)
Guarantee the stability of our water withdrawals and discharges
