Following Yves BAILLY’s departure, Geir DRANGSLAND will assume leadership of our mill on an interim basis

A stronger Group presence at its most strategic site

Today, Norske Skog Golbey is the Group’s largest Business Unit in terms of both capital investment and production capacity. This change in governance comes as Norske Skog Golbey continues the ramp-up of its new containerboard production line, a major milestone in the industrial transformation undertaken over the past few years.

A tenure marked by a series of adaptations and transformations at our mill

Yves BAILLY led Norske Skog Golbey for 20 years.

During his tenure, the mill underwent a profound transformation of its industrial model. Key milestones included the construction of a first biomass boiler, followed by a second one in 2024 on the northern part of the site, investments in two anaerobic digestion plants (commissioned in 2018 and 2022), the transition to 100% recycled fibre as the raw material for both production lines, and the development of synergies with neighbouring industries as part of an industrial and territorial ecology approach. Building on this momentum, the mill embarked on its diversification into the recyclable packaging market in 2025.

After more than three decades with Norske Skog, Yves Bailly leaves behind more than industrial achievements. Through his vision, perseverance and commitment, he has helped shape the Golbey mill into what it is today. As he begins his retirement, the Group extends its sincere thanks for his remarkable contribution and wishes him every success and happiness in this new chapter.
