Like you, we are committed to the long-term future of the recycling industry and the development of the circular economy.
Like you, we are committed to the long-term future of the recycling industry and the development of the circular economy.
By working with Norske Skog Golbey, France’s leading recycler of paper and OCC, you demonstrate the relevance of your waste management policy.
Respect for the environment is deeply rooted in our DNA and our mill aims to be a model in the paper industry. By using our services, you contribute to the green transition.
Our mill recycles your paper using industrial processes with an exemplary carbon footprint. Our ambitious environmental policy includes significant work on energy, on our processes and on transport rationalisation. Very useful if you need to calculate your own carbon footprint!
In 2007, we installed our first biomass boiler, which supplies steam to a 12.5 MW cogeneration turbine. Working with the project company GVE, we are currently building a second biomass boiler that will also supply steam to our mill, enabling us to produce renewable energy and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
In 2018, we built a biogas production unit, followed by a second one in 2023. These units enable us to reuse our effluents aligned with our bioeconomy approach. These two units will enable us to reduce our use of chemicals to treat our effluent and, above all, to reduce our carbon footprint by cutting our use of fossil fuels (gas).
Water is essential to the papermaking process. Our consumption is falling steadily. In 2022, we invested €10 million to install the best technologies available to treat our effluent before discharge.
Inline sensors carry out continuous checks and prevent any divergence from the required standard. At the same time, our engineer and technicians specialising in fluid management are working to optimise our internal water recycling circuits to avoid drawing more water from the Moselle river, despite the increase in the volumes we produce.
A positive environmental and social impact
Paper is a material that can be recycled five times on average. By choosing a paper mill as the outlet for your paper and OCC, you enable them to become paper and containerboard again and feed the loop of the circular economy once more. In fact, with 1000 kg of waste paper, we can make 700 kg of newsprint and preserve natural resources!
We currently employ 360 people. Thanks to our policy of promoting local procurement and suppliers, our activities generate more than 2,000 indirect jobs. By choosing our mill to recycle your paper and OCC, you also enable us to train around thirty students every year.
